There is no imposed limit. The practical ceiling is your device's available memory: text of several megabytes and images up to tens of megapixels are handled comfortably on a modern machine.

Why is a large image slow to compress?

Decoding and re-encoding a very large image is CPU work happening on your device. A 50-megapixel photograph takes a few seconds on a laptop and longer on a phone. The tab stays responsive while it runs.

Most errors come from the input format: strict JSON rejects trailing commas, Base64 decoding fails on truncated strings, and CSV needs the correct delimiter selected. The error message names the specific problem.
