What is Aspect Ratio Calculator?

Aspect Ratio Calculator finds the missing dimension when you know one side and the target ratio, so images, video frames and containers keep their proportions. Enter a width and a ratio such as 16:9 and it returns the exact height, plus the nearest whole-pixel value.

How to use it

  1. 1Enter the dimension you already know.
  2. 2Choose the target ratio.
  3. 3Read the calculated matching dimension.
  4. 4Use the rounded value in your export or CSS.

Features

  • Seven common ratios including the 1.91:1 used by Open Graph images
  • Exact and rounded results so you can see any sub-pixel error
  • Works from either a known width or a known height

When people use it

Exporting social images

An Open Graph image at 1200×630 is 1.91:1. Getting the ratio wrong means platforms crop your text out of the preview.

Reserving layout space

Setting an explicit width and height, or a CSS aspect-ratio, prevents the layout shift that hurts Cumulative Layout Shift scores.
